i moved from LA to new york in spring 2007. my experience in LA left me dissatisfied; after my stint at virtugyrl, i ended up working in high-end fashion wholesale as an account executive. back on the east coast, what i really wanted to do was get back into publishing—specifically, fashion. eventually, i got a contract position at instyle, where i spent the summer helping the magazine prepare their holiday gift guide, the single largest story of the year.
